Setting up

1

Turn on Autobilling

On the Subscription tab, click “Enable Autobilling”.
2

Choose thresholds

  • The value under When credits go below is the threshold below which your credits should be topped up. This must be at least 10 credits.
  • The value under Automatically purchase is the number of credits that will be purchased. This must be at least 50 credits. Price per credit varies depending on your subscription.
3

Add payment method

Next, you’ll need to provide a payment method. You can add a payment method via the Management Portal. Charges will be attempted against your default payment method first.

Autobilling process

Upon credit deduction, we’ll check whether your credit balance has dropped below your autobilling “recharge below” threshold. If it has, we’ll attempt to charge the payment method on file for the number of credits specified. Be aware that sales tax may be applied to the charge depending on your location. If the payment fails, we’ll retry the charge. If the payment still fails after multiple attempts, we’ll notify you by email and autobilling will be disabled to avoid excessive charge attempts.

On email notifications

Different email addresses will receive a notification depending on processing of which object led to threshold condition being met:
  • For API Tasks, emails will be sent to the billing email set in your Management Portal.
  • For Projects, notifications will be sent to the email address configured in the Security tab. If this address is not set, the billing email specified in your Management Portal will be used instead.

Recovering from failure

Depending on the reason for the autobilling payment failure, you may or may not need to provide a new payment method. For example, a declined charge due to insufficient funds may not require a new payment method, while a declined charge due to an expired card will. After providing the new payment details via the Management Portal, turn Autobilling back on. Make sure to mark your preferred payment method as default for good measure.

Manual recharge

At any time, you may trigger a recharge manually by clicking Recharge Now. This will charge your default payment method for the specified amount of credits based on your current subscription, regardless of the threshold. When a manual recharge fails:
  • Autobilling is not disabled automatically
  • Email notification is not sent
